District Deputy Grand Master's Message

Brethren,

It is indeed an honour to serve as the DDGM for Frontenac District.  It is a role that promises to be challenging and rewarding.

I am indebted to the brethren of Simpson Lodge for their nomination and to you, my District brethren, for your subsequent support and encouragement.

Our Grand Master, M.W. Bro. David J. Cameron, has challenged us to stop looking backwards and lamenting our declining membership but rather to look forward and refocus on our ability to change lives.  It is our ritual that sets us apart and that ritual has the ability, when done well, to provide a life-changing experience to every candidate.  That experience opens us to continual personal growth, new friendships and participation in a greater good.

Over the upcoming year I shall strive to remind you of the sense of joy and wonder available through an immersion in the Masonic experience.

In contribution to our community, the District Project this year is in support of Interval House, a shelter for women and children at risk.  All of us with daughters know the fear that they might love unwisely.  Interval House provides an escape for those who have.

Thank you again for your support.  I shall do my best to fulfill your expectations and I ask for your understanding now for those occasions when my best may prove to be not quite good enough.

Sincerely and Fraternally

Bernie MacLean
