Bro. Len Barker

It is with regrets that I must inform you of the passing of Bro. Len Barker.

May we cherish his memories in our hearts.

BARKER, Leonard Cecil (Len) - September 8, 1930 - February 11, 2018 After living a long and happy life, Len passed away peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by family on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Loving soul-mate to Rose Barker for 62 years. Much adored and respected father to Laurie Burega (Danny) and Ralph Barker (Andrea). He will be greatly missed by his much loved grandchildren Meghan, Matthew, William (Jennifer), Hannah (Shawn) and great grandchildren Mason and Ainsley. Son of the late William and Ethel Barker of Portland, Ontario. Fondly remembered by twin brother Larry (Pat), sisters-in-law Marg Hull and Winona Barker, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter-in-law Andrea Bahm-Barker, brothers Jim (Winona), John (Mary), Art (Doreen), sister Eileen, sister-in-law Noreen Hanna (Gerald) and brother in-law Gerald Hull. Len was a strong and proud family man who cherished time spent with his grandchildren, and who devoted many years to Scouting and to Westbrook’s Youth Sports and Recreation programs. He enjoyed a long retirement from his career at Alcan, spending lots of time on the golf course, the curling rink, barbecuing, gardening and mastering crossword puzzles. In accordance with Len’s wishes cremation has already taken place. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
