W. Bro. John Lannie Hume Smith

SMITH, John Lannie Hume -(Longtime lineman with Ontario Hydro, Brother of AF & AM Maple Leaf Lodge #119, Bath, active volunteer with Scouts Canada, Cogeco, and the Labour Board, to name just a few) In his 80th year, peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Kingston General Hospital, on Monday, March 19, 2018. Beloved husband for 57 years to Margaret (Reilly). Cherished father to Jennifer Stone (David), Jeffrey Smith and Sheri Sly. Loved by grandchildren Gess, Lindsay and Kelsey, Rachel and Becca, Michael, Matthew, Laurel and Jonathan and great grand-daughter Brooklynn. Dear brother of Mary Frances Marshall (Bruce) of Ottawa, Bill Smith (Patricia) of Montreal and predeceased by George Smith (the late Marie). Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Dr. Zelt, Ryan in the ER, all the nursing staff and volunteers in the ICU, especially Celine, Wanda and Cathy. John loved his cottage time, his campfire sing-a-longs, his boat, skiing, helping family, friends and community. Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will gather at theGORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOME , 435 Davis Drive (Centennial Dr. and Taylor Kidd Blvd) on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 2 pm until 4 pm.
